What Equipment Is Provided?

Marshall's Guide Service uses the latest in fishing gear and electronics to make your trip more enjoyable and productive.

  • The boat is a 23' Majek skiff powered by a 200 horsepower Yamaha engine. Majek's are locally made, and are some of the shallowest running boats on the Texas Coast.  They'll get into the "skinny" water where those redfish are. The Yamaha's reliability moves across the bays quickly and comfortably.

  • Spinning and bait casting rods and reels are designed for saltwater use and are well maintained so you will be ready for the fish.  Fly Fishermen, are welcome to bring their own fly casting equipment.

  • A VHF marine radio, Digital Fish Finder and a Global Positioning System (GPS) are used to aid in communications and finding the fish with pinpoint accuracy.

  • A cellular phone is used to stay in touch with other guides and for emergencies.

  • Rain jackets are provided in case a shower is encountered.

  • Three large ice chests are used to store gear, food, drinks and, of course, fish!

  • Two aerated and circulated bait wells keep bait alive and kicking all day.
